Public Utilities Award Rayfield for 2019 Legislative Accomplishments

CORVALLIS – Representative Dan Rayfield (D-Corvallis) has been awarded the 2019 Rock Solid Award by the Oregon People’s Utility District Association (OPUDA). OPUDA is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for member districts to discuss national, regional, state, and local issues of common concern.
Rayfield serves as the Co-Chair of the Ways and Means Committee. In this role, he is responsible for working with the other members of the committee to develop the state’s budgets. OPUDA is recognizing him for budget work he did in the 2019 Legislative Session, specifically on issues impacting public power customers throughout Oregon. These issues include improvements to the Oregon Department of Energy and Energy Supplier Assessment.
“The Oregon PUD Association is thrilled to award Representative Dan Rayfield with our prestigious Rock Solid award.”, OPUDA’s President Roger Howe said. “The award recognizes Rep. Rayfield’s work protecting utility customers’ bills from excess energy supplier assessment taxes. Rayfield’s leadership has helped public power provide customers with affordable power.”
“Keeping utility prices affordable for all Oregonians is an ongoing priority from year to year.”, Rayfield said. “The People’s Utility Districts provide an invaluable asset to the community, including lower utility rates, family wage jobs, and a public process for rate setting. I am proud to have received their 2019 Rock Solid Award.”
